This was the last busy weekend for us for awhile! Matt and I are seriously looking forward to resting, relaxing, and just being together next weekend! But here's a recap of this past weekend!
1. On Saturday, Smithfield held their annual Olden Days Festival. Our church handed out free water to people passing by. It was a really fun event and I'm excited to be a part of next years festival!
While downtown, I perused the vendors. There were people selling all sorts of things: crafts, hot dogs, funnel cakes, soaps, produce, flowers, jewelry, and antiques. And well, you guys know me, if people are selling cool, old furniture, I'm all over that. You know what happened? I found this super cute yellow cabinet! Matt wasn't with me, and I hate buying things without his approval. But I just couldn't pass up the deal on this little cabinet. I figured it would make a great end table! I think it looks awful with our current cargo couches, but those will be gone one day. I may repaint it with a softer yellow. But for now, we'll enjoy this pop of color!
2. I assisted/third shot with
again this weekend in Richmond. This wasn't on my original schedule, but because baby Wyatt came 5 weeks early she thought she would need some help carrying bags and shooting if she felt tired. Karen was SUCH a trooper. You would have never known that she gave birth to a baby 2 weeks ago. She never complained and hardly sat down. I was already impressed with Karen before, but this weekend she really demonstrated how much "above and beyond" she really does for her clients. So grateful for her!
3. My best friend got engaged on Saturday!!!!! YAY YAY YAY!! I had been Facebook messaging Michele's boyfriend last week to figure out if there was any possible way I could be there to photograph their proposal. Unfortunately with the way things worked out, I wasn't able to be in Blacksburg this weekend. But I was SO excited for Michele all day Saturday! I could hardly wait for my phone call that would ensue lots of squeals and laughter and congratulations. I can't wait to take their engagement pictures in the coming weeks!! So exciting!
If you didn't notice, but all 3 of the events above happened on Saturday. Haha. It was quite the day! Friday and Sunday were resting days for Matt and I. Friday night we hung around the house, cuddling on the couch watching Youtube Videos. Sunday was more of the same, except I slept most of the afternoon. Haha. I love spending lazy days with my husband! And I'm looking forward to having a few more of those coming this weekend!
As for this week, a sweet, lovely country club wedding will be hitting the blog and I can't wait to share!
Have a great week, friends!
