Drew & Jordan: Fort Belvoir Fairfax Chapel Wedding

As a wedding photographer, you look forward to all your weddings, but then sometimes there are a few which are slightly more anticipated. Drew & Jordan’s wedding was that for me!

Drew & Jordan are two of the sweetest, most Godly people I’ve had the opportunity to photograph. Their love for each other and the Lord was present throughout their entire wedding day. Before the start of the ceremony, the men prayed over Drew and the woman prayed over Jordan. It was incredible to witness two groups of family and friends unite together in prayer for their marriage. But what floored me even more than the prayers for their marriage was that they also prayed for those in attendance who were not Christians. I think that really speaks to the hearts of everyone involved: that they would be more inclined to pray for others than for themselves on their wedding day. Drew, Jordan, their families, and friends just have incredible hearts.

I love these photos so much. We had a beautiful fall day just at the peak of autumn so the leaves were brilliant yellows and oranges. The sangria bridesmaid dresses were the perfect accent to the fall colors and the guys looked quite damper in their tuxes. Jordan looked like a princess in her wedding gown, and her veil made her look even more like a fairytale.

Drew & Jordan incorporated a lot of special touches into their wedding day. The ceremony was held at the Fairfax Chapel on base at Fort Belvoir. Jordan’s father is a chaplain in the Navy and they live right down the street from the church! And he not only walked her down the aisle, but also preformed the ceremony! I thought that was so neat!

The reception was held at Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield. Drew & Jordan are similar to Matt and I in that dancing isn’t our favorite. Haha. So they had a (what I call) food and fellowship reception. Lots of eating and lots of talking: two of my favorite things. Haha. During their reception they also played the shoe game, which is a personal favorite of mine.

Overall it was a beautiful day and I’m so excited for Drew & Jordan to begin their marriage. I’m a wedding photographer and I do love weddings, but at the end of the day the wedding always ends and it’s the marriage that counts!

Enjoy lots of my favorites! I think this post may have a new record of portraits just because I couldn’t pick just a few favorites!
